Ukraine: Pro and anti-EU protesters clash in Kiev
The Ukrainian capital saw clashes on Sunday, between supporters of President Viktor Yanukovych and oppositionists in support of closer ties to the EU.Thousands gathered in Kiev's Independence Square for a third day to protest the Ukrainian government's decision to delay an association deal with the EU. The rally was called by the Batkivshchyna, UDAR and Svoboda parties following the announcement of the government that it will renew active dialogue with Russia.
On Thursday, Ukraine rejected draft laws that would allow the release of a jailed former PM Yulia Tymoshenko, suspended plans for a trade agreement with the European Union and announced it will renew active dialogue with Russia.
